Occasionally we will be taking local field trips. Usually, we take them on school holidays and a lot during the summer. Parents are responsible for paying for their child to go if they would like them to participate. I have only have two field trips that are pricey and will only be 1-2 times(maybe 3) a year. I will give weeks/months notice of when each field trip will be.
Places we visit are:
Play N Learn $8/per child
Fairland Sports/Aquatics Complex(indoor pool) $5
Brunswick Bowling $10/per child(includes 2 games and shoe rental....depending on the special it may be 2 hours with a small pizza and a drink)
Clark Elioak Farm(seasonal only) $10/per child(includes hayride, pony ride(optional) and a small pumpkin..in the Fall)
Shadowland $16/per child(includes 2-30 minute rounds of laser tag)
Sky Zone $16..plus $2 if you have the orange socks. $5 for Toddler Time(infant-5 years)
Howard County Library- Stories and crafts....infant-5 years
We also go to local parks: Waterloo Park, Deep Run Park, Long Gate Park(off of 103) and Centennial Park
Nature Walks: Centennial Lake
McDonalds Playland(off of 103)
My neighborhood pool(2 streets away...very close) will be open during the week as of June 21st(I think....have to check)(last day of school is the 20th)...we spend LOTS of time there during the Summer. It's open from 12:00-8:00pm. It's closed on Mondays for cleaning.
**Last but not least....Pajama Day....Kids can wear their PJ's all day...we may even have a field trip that day, who knows? I wear PJ's too. It's fun. On these days I encourage the kids to bring their electronics and movies. We have a relaxed day. I order pizza and we eat popcorn with the movies. Even the kids need a break.**
